Sunlight Mountain Resort has formed a number of new ski area partnerships that provide it’s season pass holders with additional free or steeply discounted skiing and snowboarding at ski areas in Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming. Pass holders also now receive four free days of skiing in the Spanish Pyrenees.

“We’re continually looking to add new perks for our loyal season pass holders and we’re particularly excited about some of the new partnerships we’ve formed for the upcoming season,” said Troy Hawks, Sunlight marketing and sales director.

Topping the list of new perks for Sunlight season pass holders is four free days of skiing at Alp 2500, a ski resort located about 87 miles from Barcelona in the Pyrenees mountains of northeastern Spain. The resort spans two towns, La Molina and Masella, whose two respective ski areas recently united to form Alp 2500. In all the resort features 87 trails and 33 lifts including a gondola and six detachable chairs.

As part of the partnership, season pass holders at Alp 2500 receive free ski days at Sunlight. Hawks said the partnership was formed this past season after Xavier Nolla, director of Masella, visited Sunlight for a day of skiing.

“Mr. Nolla was enamored with Sunlight’s small ski area charm, and he was particularly impressed with the many other attractions and amenities in the greater Glenwood area, including of course the hot springs,” said Hawks. “This is a clear indication that we are showing up on the radar as an international destination, and I attribute this to the great work being done by our marketing partners including Visit Glenwood and Colorado Ski Country USA.”

Sunlight season pass holders also now receieve three free ski days at Purgatory Resort, and it’s family of resorts including Arizona Snowbowl and New Mexico’s Pajarito Mountain and Sipapu Resort. Other new perks include two-for-one lift ticket deals at Utah’s Powder Mountain, and Wyoming’s Hogadon.

Established in 1966, this season Sunlight celebrates its 50th birthday. Hawks said there are a number of special events planned for the occasion including limited-edition custom-made Sunlight skis, a special craft beer brewed by Glenwood Canyon Brewing Co., a season-long video series featuring historic footage, and a special celebration during Ski Spree, Feb. 4-5, 2017.
